For four days from 29th February to 3rd March, ELG exhibited at Hotelympia in London’s Excel to showcase our Ambience lighting solutions for the hospitality industry.
More than 26,000 visitors attended the show, which is the largest in the UK and the most important event for any hospitality professional wanting to gain access to the latest technology and thinking.
During the last five years, there’s been a movement within hotel and restaurant lighting to create unique public spaces that are striking, memorable and individual. With our expertise in the development of bespoke luminaires for hospitality clients such as Mitchells & Butlers, ELG is able to fulfill such briefs and as such we enjoyed a very busy stand.
In hotel guest bedrooms, the focus remains on energy-efficient lighting that enhances the visitor experience and yet which delivers contract quality and value. ELG’s general manager, Simon Bodill, noted that the trend in hotel bedroom lighting is to become more eclectic and offer a luxurious, individual home-away-from-home aesthetic.
Our hospitality clients are moving away from the “every room the same, co-ordinated look “, he says We’re now asked to deliver immediate energy cost savings through new technologies such as LED – at the same time creating a more eclectic, luxurious ambience.”
